Counting down to lift-off
Saturday 1 or Sunday 2 August 2026 · one day of action, worldwide
What is it
World Solidarity Day is We The Free's flagship event, now in its fifth year. On one day, Saturday 1 or Sunday 2 August, activists run 4–6 hour demonstrations for the animals, a wave of peaceful, powerful public presence rolling right across the globe.
Our UK demonstration brings a 28ft truck screen into the city centre, with the audio streamed through wireless silent-disco headphones. Hundreds of people stop to watch, to listen, and to have real conversations about animals.
It's unity for the animals, as an activist community, and in solidarity with the world.

One world, one day
This year, World Solidarity Day is a global call to action. Local teams, organisers and vegan creators everywhere are running 4–6 hour demonstrations on 1 or 2 August, with a Connection Day the day before for community, food and skills.
Not on the map yet?
Solidarity Day isn't limited to the cities above. Any We The Free team can run one.
Already organising? Reach out to your Regional Support Lead and let them know you're in for Solidarity Day.
Bring back the truck
We're raising $2,700 (about £2,000) to secure the truck and the Birmingham city-centre space and make 2026 our biggest, boldest Solidarity Day yet.
Donations are processed in US dollars.
