Position Overview
As a Volunteer Illustrator at We The Free, you will play a crucial role in creating visually compelling content that communicates our message effectively. Working closely with the Media Team, you will contribute your artistic talents to produce illustrations, graphics, and visual assets that will be used in our campaigns, social media, and outreach materials.
Key Responsibilities
- Illustration creation: Produce high-quality, original illustrations that are visually engaging assets for social media, promotional materials, and other platforms.
- Stay informed: Keep abreast of design trends and industry developments, and incorporate relevant elements into your work.
- Visual branding: Understanding and adhering to the branding guidelines of WTF to enhance brand recall.
- Content research: Gather data and resources that ensure the content is accurate, credible, and based on reliable sources.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other members of the content team to curate and/or modify the illustration to suit team goals.
- Feedback and Revisions: Incorporate feedback from team members and make revisions as necessary to meet project requirements.
- Timely Delivery: Complete assigned tasks within agreed-upon deadlines.
Skills and Qualifications
- Creative thinking and proactive ideation
- Proficient in illustration software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Procreate)
- Strong portfolio showcasing a variety of illustration styles and techniques
- Knowledge of typography, color theory, and design principles
- Passion for animal rights and alignment with We The Free's mission
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment
- Excellent communication skills
Time Commitment
This is a volunteer position, and we appreciate any time you can dedicate to supporting our cause. The time commitment can be flexible based on your availability and the needs of ongoing projects.
Financial Compensation
This is a voluntary position, with potential for future paid roles. Every paid member of the WTF team started as a volunteer initially! (Of course, a future role cannot be guaranteed)
